கோயில் அமைப்பு :
ஊரின் நடுவே மிக விசாலமான பரப்பளவில் ஐந்து நிலை இராஜகோபுரத்துடன் இக்கோயில் அமைந்துள்ளது . இராஜகோபுரத்தை கடந்து உள்ளே சென்றால் முதலில் நாம் பெரிய பலி பீடத்தையும், துவஜஸ்தம்பத்தையும் கருடன் சன்னதி விமானத்தையும் காணலாம். இடது புறம் சென்றால் அழகிய வேலைப்பாடுகளுடன் கூடிய படிக்கட்டு வழியாக சென்றால் வடக்கு நோக்கி திரும்பினால் நாம் ஸ்ரீ இராமானுஜர் சன்னதியை காணலாம் . அழகிய சிற்பங்கள் நிறைந்த முன் மண்டபத்தில் இருந்து அவரை நாம் கண்குளிர வணங்கலாம், அவரும் நம்மை திருப்பி வணங்குவது போல் இருப்பார் .
ஸ்ரீ இராமானுஜர் :
ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜர் கிபி 1017ஆம் ஆண்டு சித்திரை மாதம் திருவாதிரை நட்சத்திரத்தில் அப்போது பூதபுரி என்று அழைக்கப்பட்ட தற்போதைய ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூரில் அவதரித்தார்.இவரது தந்தை ஆருலகேசவ சோமயாகி. தாய் காந்திமதி அம்மையார்.
சாதி,மதங்களைக் கடந்து மனிதனை மனிதன் நேசிக்க வேண்டும் என் உயரிய கருத்தை ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வலியுறுத்திய மகான் ஸ்ரீ ராமானுஜர்.இந்து இறையியலாளர், தத்துவஞானி மற்றும் வேதவசன
நிபுணர் ஆவார்.வைணவர்கள் அவரை தங்கள் பாரம்பரியத்தின் மிக முக்கியமான ஆச்சாரியார்களில் ஒருவராக போற்றுகிறார்கள் .துறவிகளின் அரசர் என்பதால் யதிராஜர் என்றும் போற்றப்படுகிறார் .
அப்படியே நாம் அவரை வணங்கிவிட்டு அருகில் உள்ள தனி சன்னதியில் கிழக்கு நோக்கி ஆதிகேசவ பெருமாள் நமக்கு காட்சி தருகிறார் . மூலவரின் திருமார்பில் ஸ்ரீவத்ஸமும், ஸ்ரீ தேவியும், பூதேவியும் குடியிருக்கின்றனர். மற்றும் உற்சவர் கேசவ நந்தவர்த்தனரையும், நவநீத கிருஷ்ணரையும் மற்றும் செல்லப்பிள்ளை தரிசனம் செய்யலாம். அதி கேசவ பெருமாள் மற்றும் இராமானுஜர் சன்னதி கோபுரங்கள் தங்கத்தால் வேயப்பட்டுள்ளன .
அடுத்து யதிராஜநாதவல்லி தாயாரை தரிசனம் செய்யலாம். இராமானுஜரின் பெயரான யதிராஜர் பெயரிலேயே தாயார் இருப்பது ஒரு சிறப்பாகும் . தாயாரின் சன்னிதியின் அருகிலேயே சக்கரத்தாழ்வாரின் சன்னதி. மேலும் ஆண்டாள் நாச்சியாருக்கும், இராமருக்கும் தனி சன்னதி உள்ளது.
தரிசனம் முடித்துவிட்டு வெளியே வந்தால் கோயிலுக்கு வெளியே நேராக இராமானுஜர் அவதார திருத்தலத்தை காணலாம் .
நித்ய சொர்க்கவாசல் :.
ராமானுஜர் அவதரித்ததால் இங்கு சொர்க்கவாசல் கிடையாது. வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசியன்று ஆதிகேசவர், ராமானுஜர் இருவரும் பூதக்கால் மண்டபத்தில் எழுந்தருளுவர். அந்த நேரத்தில் சொர்க்கவாசல் திறப்பதைப்போல, இங்குள்ள மணிக்கதவை திறப்பர். வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசியன்று இந்த கோவிலுக்கு வருபவர்கள் வைகுண்டம் சென்ற பலனை அடைவார்கள்.
இன்றைக்கும் ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூரில் யார் இறந்தாலும் மேளம் அடித்துக்கொண்டு வந்து சுவாமிக்கு சூட்டப்பட்ட மாலை, ஆளவந்தார் கஷாயம், பரிவட்டம், பெற்றுச்சென்று இறந்தவர் உடலில் சாற்றுவர்.
தல வரலாறு :
ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூர் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் இத்தலம் முன்னொரு காலத்தில் பூதபுரி என்ற பெயரில் இருந்தது. இதற்கு காரணம் ஒரு நாள் சிவபெருமான் கைலாயத்தில் தன்னை மறந்து நடனமாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அப்பொழுது அவரையும் அறியாமல் அவர் உடம்பில் இருந்த வஸ்திரம் நழுவி விழுந்தது. இதை பார்த்த சிவகணங்கள் சிவனை பார்த்து சிரித்தன. இதை உணர்ந்த சிவபெருமான் சிவகணங்களை பூமிக்கு செல்லுமாறு சபித்தார். இதனால் மன வேதனை அடைந்த சிவகணங்கள், சிவனின் அருளை மீண்டும் பெற பெருமாளை நோக்கி தவமிருந்தனர்.
இதனால் பெருமாள், ஆதி கேசவப் பெருமாளாக பூத கணங்களுக்கு காட்சி அளித்து, பின் ஆதிசேஷனை அழைத்து குளம் ஒன்றை எழுப்பினார். அவற்றில் அந்த பூத கணங்களை மூழ்கி எழச்செய்து அவர்களுக்கு சாப விமோச்சனம் பெற வழி செய்தார். பூதகணங்களுக்கு சாப விமோச்சனம் கிடைத்த இடமானதால் இந்த இடம் பூதபுரி என்ற பெயர் பெற்றது. பின் நாளடைவில் புதூர் என்று மாறி, பின் ராமானுஜர் அவதரித்தனால் ஸ்ரீபெரும்புதூராக மாறியது.
ராகு கேது தோஷ பரிகார தலம்:
ஆதிசேஷனின் அம்சமான ராமானுஜரை வணங்கினால் ராகுவினால் ஏற்படும் மாங்கல்ய தோஷம், புத்தர பாக்கியமின்மை மற்றும் கேதுவினால் ஏற்படும் வாதக்கோளாருகள் போன்ற காலசர்ப்ப தோஷங்கள் நிவர்த்தியாகும்.

There is no heaven here because Ramanujar incarnated. On the Vaikunda Ekadasi, both Adikasavar and Ramanujar will wake up in the Bhutakkal Hall. Just as heaven opens at the time, the bell will be opened here. Those who come to the temple on the Vaikunda Ekadasi will attain the benefits of Vaikundam.

Head History:
The so -called Sriperumbudur was once the name of Poothapuri. One day Lord Shiva was dancing in Kailai. Then he did not know him, and the garment in his body slipped. Seeing this, the Sivagas laughed at Lord Shiva. Realizing this, Lord Shiva cursed the Sivagas to go to earth. Sivagas, who were so painful, had to return to Perumal to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Thus, Perumal showed Adi Kesavap as Perumal, and then called Adi Sesan and raised a pool. In them, he drove the giant moments and made the way for them to curse them. The place was named Poothapuri because it was a curse for the curse. Later in the day, Budur became Budur, and then Ramanujar became the incarnation of Sriperumbudur.
